My Crashing World

The world around is drowning in terror,

Every morning news show the world in error.

Trivial issues they douse with passion,

The world has made fight, its fashion.

They say it’s for freedom,

They say it will bring relief,

What they fail to say is that,

The end will inevitably bring you grief.

They say you are wrong and

That “I am right”,

They say that you have sinned,

And thus have no living right.

Drowning refugees, beheaded artists,

Crashing jetliners and man lynched over beef.

The hues on the horrific picture they paint,

Simply darken with every small tiff.

In my hope of creating a meaningful life,

I travel the world round and round.

Trying to escape the wrath and find a shelter,

Somewhere calm, where I will never be found.
